Where AI does the work, and where it doesn't
AI is good at reading a 40-page solicitation and writing a first draft. It's bad at facts it can't check. So we use it for reading and writing, and keep it away from rankings and contact details.
AI is used to
- Summarize notices and attachmentsWhat's being bought, rough size, and what a response would need.
- Explain the fitA short note on why a notice or award matches your profile.
- Draft outreach and responsesEmails to primes and first-draft capability responses, limited to your listed capabilities.
- Settle ambiguous company matchesWhen an award winner's name matches several SAM registrations, a model picks the likely one and leaves the match unconfirmed when it isn't sure.
AI is not used to
- Rank or score anythingScores are rules you can read. The same inputs always give the same rank.
- Find contact detailsWebsites and points of contact come from SAM registrations and the company's own site.
- Send emailNothing leaves without you. Every draft goes out from your inbox, after you've read it.
- Pull federal dataOpportunities and awards come straight from the SAM.gov and USAspending APIs.
Questions
Does AI decide which opportunities I see?
No. Rankings are rule-based scores computed from your profile. AI only writes text about records that are already on your list.
Can the AI invent a contact or a capability?
Contacts come from SAM registrations and company websites, never from a model. Drafts are limited to the capabilities in your profile, and every draft is read by you before it goes anywhere.
What data goes to the AI provider?
Public notice and award text, plus the company profile you give us so drafts can describe your work. We don't send your pipeline notes or contact history.
Which models do you use?
Commercial language models through their standard APIs, chosen for accuracy and cost. Changing models doesn't change your setup or your scores.
